Introducing our NEW special section called “Artists We Love.”  Every quarter Reuse America NY is collaborating with a different local artist to create a collection of custom one-of-a-kind collectible furnishings that will be featured in a preview sale or auctioned to support local artists.

Our first featured artist LPX, moniker of Lizzy Plapinger, is more traditionally known for her many roles in music : as a solo artist who records and performs under the same name, as Co founder of Neon Gold Records (Haim, Tove Lo, Marina and the Diamonds, Christine and the Queens, Charli XCX and Matt Maeson to name a few), and as lead singer of electro pop duo MS MR. She’s toured and performed all over the world including festival stages such like Coachella, Bonaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Glastonbury, Splendour in the Grass, Falls etc, in addition to gracing late night TV (Letterman, Leno, Fallon) as well as having her music synced in both TV (Invincible, Greys Anatomy, Game of Thrones) and Film (The Room). She affectionately claims her genre and aesthetic as Pantone Punk, best represented in her new EP, Go The Other Way Called The Echo. Released just over a month ago it’s an eclectic and electric body of work about the process of finding, navigating and staying true to your own calling and direction.

For years she’s been revered for her taste and ability to build worlds (sonically and visually) that are as bold and vibrant as she is - seamlessly weaving references between mediums and genres to create an alternative prismatic landscape all her own. It was only a matter of time until this passion and skill moved from background to foreground.

Combining her love of NYC, Vintage, Art and Design as well as a kaleidoscopic array of influences as varied as the pieces themselves (from Vernor Panton, Memphis + Bau Haus design to Pee Wees Playhouse, Bowie, Kusama, Grace Jones, and Fran Drescher) today she shares her first collection made for and in collaboration with one her favorite local vintage stores, Re Use America NY. In her own words

“I’ve always had a profound and intimate relationship with color - it’s my most intuitive language with which to express myself while igniting joy and energy into the world. To be able to merge this with a lifelong love affair and obsession with vintage - two of passions that have always lived alongside my expressions in music - as well as support and participate in my local community and small businesses feels like a perfect storm of community, curation and creation. Every single one of these bespoke pieces has been handpicked and painted to embody my maximalist taste and individualist stylings as well as my belief that treasure can be simultaneously found and made. I hope they lift every space and person they touch and help to the mundane feel a little bit more magical”

Born from a long standing dedicated relationship to the local vintage community and reignited passion for home design as explored during this past year in Quarantine this bespoke collection of one of a kind pieces represents the first steps towards LPX as a more holistic multi media artist project. Consider this the tip of the iceberg.
